It might not be a huge surprise to you that I’d say that the answer to the question we’re asking today is a huge ‘Yes’ – with bells on, but aside from my clear and massive bias, why should you use video for your business? How can video help your business and frankly, what is all the fuss about?

Firstly, video is an incredibly effective means of communication. You can say an awful lot very quickly with video because it’s a visual medium.

Why is that? Well, with video, when the speaker or presenter is in vision – as a viewer, you can pick up nonverbal cues that directly affect the way in which you retain or interact with that communication. 80% of our communication happens non-verbally by understanding and sending non-verbal cues. Those non-verbal cues increase our understanding of the message too, and also act as important signposts to the truthfulness and sincerity of what’s being said. There’s a whole heap of research into this fascinating field that really underlines the importance of the non-verbal aspects of our communication and how important it is in conveying a message.

So, the bottom line is that video, so long as the speaker is in vision, allows you to tap into that which is extremely powerful.

Secondly, video is currently the most popular medium. Viewers are ready to listen so long as you follow up with valuable and concise content.

According to research by MediaMind, consumers are 27% more likely to click through on a video ad than they are on a standard ad, and that’s why according to a report by Animoto, 88% of video marketers are satisfied with the ROI of their video marketing efforts on social media put simply, video just works if you need to generate leads and encourage more clients into your business, video can help.

According to Optinmonster video marketers get 66% more qualified leads per year by using video marketing for business. The same research also found that video marketers also achieve a 54% increase in brand awareness.

93% of marketers said that they’d landed new clients as a result of using video content on social media.

By these, you can clearly see that they’re all pointing to one thing. Video is an extremely powerful tool for business, and if you haven’t already, I’d really urge you to invest some time and resource in making video part of your marketing mix.

But before you dive straight in, it is important that you plan. Then you can start to capitalize on the power that video offers for your business.

So, I hope by now you get the fact that you definitely do need videos for your business. And if not, I have dismally failed in my mission and I hang my head in shame and regret. But the stats kind of speak for themselves. Right? And the thing is there are so many more like it all over the internet. If you need any more persuading than just spend 15 minutes pottering around Google.
